Dr Shweta Trivedi, a Teaching Associate Professor in the Animal Science Department at North Carolina State University, has given a talk at Harper Adams University titled: ‘Professional development of animal science students through community partnerships’.
She gave her talk during a recent visit of NC State University students to Harper Adams, for a summer school that focused on animal behaviour and veterinary physiotherapy.
She shared how they wanted to ensure that their students gained additional, hands-on experience while studying at the university, to help them in their future endeavours; additionally important in America as students attend vet school after completing their undergraduate degree.
Dr Trivedi also shared how the summer school at Harper Adams, which has already been attended by 64 students, is important to show students the alternative areas of animal behaviour and veterinary physiotherapy, and also that studying in the UK is an option.
