The Cranswick Agricultural Scholarship offers a one year placement working alongside Cranswick’s agricultural manager and shadowing at industry meetings and events to understand their products from farm to fork. The Cranswick Food Marketing Scholarship offers the successful candidate a one year programme assisting in the development and deliverance of marketing plans based on customer behaviour, market trends and product performance.
Harper Adams graduate Lucy Beadle (pictured above) began working for Cranswick plc on her placement year before joining their graduate programme. Lucy said: “Joining Cranswick was the best career decision I have made. I am now a Farm Operations Manager for one of our farming divisions and absolutely love my job. I am so proud to say I work for a business with such passion and commitment to British food and farming, I cannot thank Cranswick enough for their support throughout my career.”
Cranswick plc is one of the largest food businesses in the UK with state of the art production facilities across 17 locations countrywide. Now more than ever the company is focusing on employing graduates, especially from Harper Adams.
Chief Operating Officer Chris Aldersley said: “As a business we strongly believe in investing in the future of young, talented individuals. We have a great history working with Harper Adams University and have numerous alumni working within the business from this longstanding relationship, so we hope to move this positive relationship forward educating students and graduates on the career opportunities the Agri-food industry has to offer.”
Doris Taylor, Head of Development at Harper Adams, said: “We are delighted that Cranswick has chosen to strengthen the existing successful relationship with Harper Adams and to work with us to support the next generation of agri-food graduates. The two placement roles on offer provide an excellent opportunity for our students to gain some valuable industry experience with a major UK food business and will leave them in a good position to secure a graduate level job when they finish their studies.”
