With the shift to online working and teaching growing, we are discovering more and more ways to maintain our usual social lives while staying home and staying safe. Whether it be taking part in an SU event, hanging out with friends through video call, or keeping up with the sporting spirit with Joe's morning PE sessions like the Harper Rugby girls, the Harper community is still just as connected as it was on campus.
One group that has taken made the digital shift is run by Dr Ed Harris. He wrote:
I have decided to convert our ongoing statistics and R programming group (Harper Adams R User Group = “HARUG!”) for the postgrad research students to an ongoing weekly online meeting using Microsoft Teams. We had our first meeting last week and it went very well. In next week's Quarantine Edition HARUG!, Ana Natalio will talk about a stats problem she has been working on recently.
Ed is also encouraging lively Slack discussions and banter! You can keep up to date with the group via Twitter.
We're moving our R User Group meetings @Harper_R_Users @HarperAdamsUni to virtual meetings to practice safe statistics, and get some social time and some R time! #rstats #rstudio pic.twitter.com/LrMD50WeT7
