Harper Adams University Principal Lecturer in Economics Dr Dimitrios Paparas has been invited to be an independent evaluator for a panel meeting run by the Bioeconomy for the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), Ministry of National Education in Romania.
In total, there are 26 experts from around the world taking part in the panel, including from the USA, Australia, India and other parts of the EU.
Dr Paparas said: “The goal is the implementation of new, or significantly improved products, technologies, methods, systems or services in the areas of smart specialisation or public priority.
“I’ve been invited to be an evaluator due to my international visibility in economics and I have a proven experience in scientific articles and development research projects.
“The main goal of this funding call is to increase the competitiveness of the Romanian economy through research, development and innovation which is very close to my expertise area of economic policy, development and agricultural economics.
“I’m also a leading member of the Global Institute for Agri-Tech Economics, which is a research centre within Harper Adams University that represents a worldwide network of leading multidisciplinary researchers and stakeholders and which brings together experts working on the application, adaptation and adoption of innovative agricultural technology.”
