While the Harper Adams campus is based in rural Shropshire, our teaching has global reach. Our academics contribute to discussions and strive to be thought leaders in their relevant subjects to be able to bring current information back to students in the classroom.
With this in mind, Professor Simon Davies, professor of Mono-gastric Nutrition and Aquaculture has been sharing his knowledge internationally.
Holding a Chair in Fish Nutrition and Aquaculture, Professor Davies is an acknowledged international expert in the nutrition of cultured or fish species having served academia and specialising in fish nutrition for over 35 years.
Recently he took his knowledge to South Korea, presenting the second of his international webinars hosted by Pathway Intermediates, a leading biotechnology company in animal feed additives.
Professor Davies said: “Covering the advances in the nutrition of warm water farmed fish and, more recently, shrimp, there was an audience exceeding 1,000 people, mainly from South East Asia.
“Pathway Intermediates are sponsoring research on fish cell studies to evaluate their products and Dr Tharangani Herath and I will lead the work.
“Webinars such as these can open Harper Adams to global appreciation of our expertise!“
You can find out more about future Pathway Intermediates webinars here.
