Imi Manning named Three Counties Farming Young Farmer of the Year 2020
27 November 2020

Alumna Imi Manning was named the winner of the Young Farmer of the Year Award at the Three Countries Farming Awards last night (November 26).
The BSc (Hons) Agriculture graduate was nominated for the award after displaying determination in improving the health and wellbeing of sheep and sharing her passion for best practice in farming working on her family farm near Ledbury.
In its second year, the Awards were held virtually to accomodate lockdown measures and to continue to celebrate the successes of a range of farmers across the Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire counties.
Millie Whitlock from Belmont Farm And Equine Vets, who nominated Imi for the award, said: “Her focus on improving best practice has led to improved conception rates and lambing percentage. Imi also manages the calf rearing enterprise producing approximately 600 calves a year.
“Her eye for detail and skilled stockmanship practice has been a main factor in the continued success of the enterprise, which is currently expanding to accommodate up to 1000 calves.
“Imi’s hard work, determination, passion for stock and interaction with others in the industry locally and globally has had - and continues to have - a positive impact on the family business.
