Harper alumnus Will Evans has written an opinion column about women in farming for Farmers Weekly
The piece is rooted in his personal experience of having four daughters and other people's (wrong) assumptions that he will need a son to keep the family farm going.
"Things are visibly changing," Will writes. "With 40% of undergraduate students studying agriculture at Harper Adams now female, and many industry organisations running well-supported groups and networks, I’m hopeful that in the near future gender won’t be a consideration at all – only individual ability will."
And we wholeheartedly agree - you just have to look at our news and blogs to see the wealth of female agricultural talent we are supporting here at Harper Adams.
