Judges finally able to tuck into FMT Food Industry Awards judging at Harper Adams
29 April 2021
After being postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the judging of the entries for the 2021 Food Management Today Food Industry Awards is now well on its way at Harper Adams University.
The record-breaking number of entries will now undergo a rigorous examination, by a panel including head judge, and chief executive of the IoM, Keith Fisher and others. The judges will be assessing taste, smell, texture, and the visual qualities of the products up for consideration.
The annual awards see members of the meat and poultry industry enter their products into several categories, including, best red meat and best poultry product. Away from meat and poultry, The FMT Food Industry Awards also have categories for dairy, fish, baking, confectionary, and packaging industries.
Not only has The FTM Food Industry Awards seen a record number of entries in 2021, Meat Management Magazine has also reported that the home economists responsible for the preparation of the entries, are reporting extremely high standards all-round and that they expect the judges to have difficulties selecting the finalists of this year’s competition.
Due to the Government regulations concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 Awards ceremony will be broadcast online. Potential viewers and competitors can now pre-register on Food Management Today’s website. https://www.foodmanagement.today/awards/
