Harper graduate Eugenie and her canine companion take virtual physiotherapy demonstrations by storm.

    29 April 2021

Harper Adams veterinary physiotherapy graduate, Eugenie Wilcocks, has spoken to VetClick about recruiting Border Collie - Nell, to help Linnaeus-owned Kentdale Referrals continue to provide physiotherapy to animals in need.

In the piece Eugenie, a member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists, explains how recruiting a canine sidekick was vital to demonstrate to owners how to perform physiotherapy on their pets during virtual consultations.

The regulations surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic meant that clients and patients could not enter Kentdale Referrals for treatment. So, Eugenie, who graduated in 2019, decided to use Nell, her pet Border Collie “who loves massages and extra fuss”.

Eugenie admits that there have been some issues to iron out but thinks Nell’s appearances will continue after the lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions have ended.

If like Eugenie you want to learn and paw-fect your skills as a veterinary physiotherapistlook at our course here.
