Good causes get boost thanks to team-up between Harper Adams and Nova United.

    23 June 2021

A range of good causes have once again been supported thanks to an ongoing team-up between Harper Adams University and a local football club.

Newport’s Nova Utd marked their last match of the season with a donation to Harper Adams Students’ Union RAG committee in recognition of their appreciation for being allowed the use of the University’s pitches over the 2019 and 2020 season.

Nova United Under 13s coach, David Nuttall, thanked the committee for enabling young Nova footballers to train throughout the winter months and handed a cheque for £450 to HASU RAG representatives following the team’s final match.

David – who also works as the university’s Catering Manager - said: “Newport’s Nova United Football club have a long-standing relationship with Harper Adams University, which helps young aspiring footballers to keep active all the way through winter. Parents donated spare change at the end of each training session, allowing these funds to be raised to show their appreciation for the use of the Harper pitches.”

The funds raised will be split between a range of charities being supported by the RAG fund – this year’s being Yellow Wellies, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), and Blue Cross.
