Harper Adams alumna Charlotte Bolton has spoken to The Fish Site about her academic journey from an Agriculture undergraduate degree to studying a PhD in Aquaculture and the next steps her career will take.
Charlotte achieved a first-class BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science degree and a distinction in her Master’s degree from Harper Adams.
On the strength of her undergraduate success, Charlotte then received a scholarship to study Aquaculture at postgraduate level.
In the piece, Charlotte also discusses what a typical day looks like for her now, in the final year of her research, and how the Women Returners Programme run by WiSA (Women in Scottish Aquaculture) has helped her in her early career progression.
Her Master’s thesis investigating the diets of rainbow trout which Charlotte produced while at Harper Adams has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Research.
In her own words, Charlotte would like to thank her postgraduate supervisor Prof. emeritus Simon J Davies, whose support throughout my career progression has continued long beyond my time at HAU.
