Sue Howarth, Principal Lecturer and Programme Manager, presented at the 2022 Association of Zoo & Exotic Veterinary Nurses Conference on Saturday.
Joined by vet nursing colleagues from across the country, Sue promoted Harper Adams University's current RCVS Cert AVN courses and sought feedback from interested RVN about the development of new courses in this subject area of zoo and exotic vet nursing.
Harper Adams offers RCVS accredited Advanced Veterinary Nursing courses at Grad Cert and Postgraduate levels. Typically, Grad Cert candidates have a registerable qualification from a further education background and Postgraduate candidates will already have an undergraduate qualification. At both levels, specialist Surgical, Oncology, Analgesia or Pain Management and Anaesthesia routes are available. For more information email postRVN@harper-adams.ac.uk
Students can become associate members of The AZEVN association while at university and become full members when they graduate.
Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month, or VNAM for short, was originally started by BVNA in 2005 as National VN Day campaign, and now, since 2012, the campaign takes place throughout the month of May every year. The purpose of VNAM is to spread the word to the veterinary profession and pet owners, about the importance of the role of the veterinary nurse in practice, and the provision of responsible pet care to the general public.
The theme for VNAM 2022 is #OurProfessionMyResilience.
