The first induction day for the new Vet Technician (livestock) level 5 apprenticeship was attended by Vet Technicians and ATTs from across the country. This apprenticeship has been developed and supported by the BVTA, industry and government, and will start officially on October 3rd 2022.
Apprentices roles vary but the apprenticeship standard, designed by industry, covers a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours for the sector, with a blend of online learning and practical, hands-on weeks at the university over the next two years. Specialist qualified Vets will deliver practical sessions across the university's farm and Animal Science facilities.
Course Manager Karim Farag said "There are still a few places left on the course for Vet Techs, and we offer a further induction on 28th September for those who wish to apply now".
