This year, the NFU's #BackBritishFarming day was marked on November 2.
We were delighted to host the NFU Dairy Export Summit on campus - and to welcome Secretary of State for International Trade Kemi Badenoch, who met with our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ken Sloan.
As the UK's leading specialist university for the agri-food and rural business sectors, we are working every day to back British farming and farmers, to educate the farmers of the future, and to ensure our current workforce get the new skills they need through short courses and apprenticeships.
Our School of Sustainable Food and farming is working to share the latest thinking and learning on sustainable farming, to ensure the farming sector gets the support and advice it needs.
Our current students - whether here on campus, or out in industry on placement, marked the day:
Placement student Eleanor was even nominated as one of a series of Community Farming Heroes by her local MP...
...as were the the family of Len Eadon - who were named West Midlands winners - and alumnus Duncan Priestner.
Our partners across the sector - and across the globe - also marked the day.
Throughout the day, and beyond, our students, alumni, staff, parners and friends all marked the contribution British farming makes in their own way.
As Professor Sloan noted after meeting the Secretary of State: "We have one of the world’s most productive, innovative and environmentally-concerned farming sectors, and it is vital that we back it and support it - both home and abroad."
