Today, we mark the nine years since Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, became the Chancellor of Harper Adams University – a position created after the former Harper Adams University College gained University Title in December 2012.
In November 2013, the installation of the Chancellor took place in St Peter’s Church, Edgmond.
Addressing the congregation, the new Chancellor said she was honoured to accept the position, and highlighted the key role the university can play in tackling the global food crisis.
Nine years later, in November 2022, the Chancellor’s continued concern was the same challenges showed as she attended a debate entitled “How do we achieved Net Zero in Farming and Food?” hosted by the University and its School of Sustainable Food and Farming at the headquarters of Rabobank, London.
In the intervening years, the Chancellor has attended many University engagements, opening new facilities, attending symposia and marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of the University’s founding benefactor, Thomas Harper Adams.
