Professor of food production from Instituto Federal de Brasília visits Harper Adams

Dannielle Leonardi Migotto, Professora de Produção Vegetal from Instituto Federal de Brasília has visited Harper Adams University. She is also doing a PhD in Poultry Production at the University of Goias, Brazil.

Miss Leonardi Migotto has particular interest in the poultry research. The title of her PhD is: "Sustainable utilisation of aviary bed obtained with different levels of reuse and forms of fermentation used as fertilizer and its technical, economic and welfare implications of broilers". Her father is a poultry farmer near Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

Reader Vasil Pirgozliev has been sharing with her the poultry research at The National Institute of Poultry Husbandry.

Vasil said: "We are showing her our facility, the laboratory. She also has the chance to discuss some poultry topics with our PhD students.

"We may collaborate in projects in the future with the University of of Goias and also exchange research staff and students.

"Brazil is one of the biggest poultry producers in the world."
