This year the Pig Industry Scholarship sees seven companies signed up to the scheme which is facilitated by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
The Pig Industry Scholarship aims to raise the profile of careers in the pig industry and gives businesses the opportunity to recruit high calibre candidates.
Seven businesses will provide a paid placement to second year BSc and first year FdSc students at Harper Adams University.
The scholarship is a great opportunity for students to gain experience in the industry and offers scholars a natural progression into their chosen career paths.
Returning businesses; ABN, CEVA, Devinish Nutrition, ForFarmers, Provimi and Rattlerow Farms are to be joined for the first time this year by Stephen Tuer Farms.
The Pig Industry Scholarship has secured more than 20 scholars since its inception in 2014 and 50% of inaugural scholars are still working in the industry one year from graduating.
In October, the seven sponsoring companies will attend a scholarship fair at Harper Adams University where the they will promote their scholarships, giving students the chance to find out more about the fantastic opportunity available.
