    Meet the graduates: Hywell Phillips

    Hywell Phillips, 23, from Dyfed, Pembrokeshire, has been awarded the New Holland Trophy when he graduated from Harper Adams University in late September.

    The trophy is given to the best BEng (Hons) Agricultural Engineering student which Hywell graduated with a first class honours in.

    In addition to being awarded the McConnell Scholarship, The Douglas Bomford Trust Scholarship, and the Harper Adams Club Presidents’ Scholarship during his studies at Harper Adams University. Hywell was also awarded the Claas Scholarship and spent his industry placement year with them in Harsewinkel, Germany.

    While working for Claas on his placement he initially worked as a test engineer with a focus on harvesters, and then a design engineer within their advanced development laboratory.

    Hywell now takes up a role as graduate product support engineer for JCB, based at their World Parts Centre, in Uttoxeter.
