Maximillian Tercel, 24, from Oakhampton, Devon, has been awarded the Royal Entomological Society Prize.
The prize is awarded to the top postgraduate student studying MSc Entomology which Maximillian graduated with distinction from in September.
Professor of Entomology, Simon Leather said: “Max’s academic performance was consistently excellent throughout the year. He was placed in the top few students in all his taught modules.
“His research project examining whether wingbeat frequency in insects varies with body mass and wing area within and between species was similarly achieved one of the highest marks of all the MSc entomology projects”.
