Shannon Hubbard, 22 from Shefford, Bedfordshire, was presented with the Thomas Hasley Award at the prize giving ceremony at Harper Adams University’s graduation day.
Shannon received the award for being the final year rural property management student who made the learning experience for other students enjoyable.
Shannon graduated from the BSc Rural Property Management course and the prize is well deserved for her work in supporting other students on the course and helping with recruitment at various open days and other university events.
While on placement with Sherwill Forbes in Buckinghamshire, Shannon became interested in alternative approaches to the conversion of agricultural buildings to residential dwellings.
Associate Head of Department for Land Management, Susan Ragbourne, who presented the prize, said: “One of the case studies in her final year major project looked at starter homes constructed in grain silos. This strong interest in planning and development has led to Shannon landing a graduate job with Strutt & Parker focussing on planning work.”
