Sally Warren, Defra’s Director for Food Chain, and a number of her colleagues have visited Harper Adams University to see some of the research work the university is undertaking.
Vice-Chancellor Dr David Llewellyn said: “We were delighted to be able to host this visit by Defra staff. We were able to tour the University to meet a number of staff and see research ranging from entomology to advanced engineering, while also spending a little time on the university farm.
"We had a very helpful discussion on current issues such as the role of agri-tech economics in assessing technological innovations in food production, degree apprenticeships in food and farming subjects and future graduate supply to meet the needs of the agri-food sector.”
