Each year, Domestic Services Manager at Harper Adams University, Michelle Pryce, raises money for a nominated charity. This year £633.85 was raised in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospice, a charity which provides care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from Shropshire, Cheshire, north and mid Wales.
Michelle said: “The fundraising activities throughout the year inlcuded; a tombola, raffle, cake sale, book club, Christmas card poster and bingo morning. The money raised is for a great cause and I’m thankful for all the staff that helped and donated.”
Area Fundraiser for Hope House, Linsey Kilvert, came to Harper to receive the cheque, which was handed over by staff from domestic services.
Lynsey said: “Each year we need 6.3 million pounds to run the charity and 80% of that comes from donations we receive from the local community.
“For every one pound raised 86 pence goes directly to the care of the children, the donation from Harper Adams University will contribute towards nursing care, support at home for children and medical equipment.”
