Harper Adams University student gets involved in That’s Farming’s ‘Women in Ag’ series

    1 March 2018

BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Farm Business Management student, Sophie Bell, recently took over That’s Farming’s Snapchat for a day, as part of their ‘Women in Ag’ series, along with being profiled on their website.

Sophie, 19, from Virginia, County Cavan said: “Last November, I was asked by That’s Farming if I was interested in taking part in their ‘Women in Ag’ series; of course I said yes!

“I was interviewed by That’s Farming about myself, and also asked to takeover of their Snapchat for the day.

“For the Snapchat takeover, I vlogged about my day. The key areas that I covered were about what I was getting up to, my previous experiences and the course that I’m on at Harper, along with what it’s like to study here.

“I started out by introducing myself on the feed. I then linked it to my first lecture and went from there. As I went through the day, a lot of people wanted to see more of the University Farm, which led to me talking about the farm and the different techniques involved.

“I found it very motivating to receive such great feedback from everyone; at home, at Harper and on social media. I also found that a lot of people were surprised as to how much I’ve already done at such a young age.”
