Giles Armitage, BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Mechanisation student, has been awarded a John Longwill Scholarship at Harper Adams University.
Giles, 19, from Leicester, Leicestershire said: “The scholarship will allow me to travel around the world to discover new farming method to develop my knowledge.
“It’ll allow me to invest in a business and help me get my foot in the door of the agricultural sector.”
While at Harper, Giles has taken on numerous roles including being chairman of the Field Sports Society, technical officer for the Students’ Union, and taking on further responsibility as course representatives and student ambassador at Harper.
Giles added: “I’d like to thank my sponsors who have assisted me to develop my knowledge in agriculture and therefore grow a successful business in Leicester.”
