    CLAAS UK Scholarship: Robert Bryning

    28 March 2018

Robert Bryning, MEng Agricultural Engineering student, has received the CLAAS UK Scholarship at Harper Adams University.

Robert, 20, from Preston, Lancashire, said: “The CLAAS scholarship is an amazing opportunity for me as it offers financial sponsorship, as well as a year in industry with a global, innovative agricultural machinery manufacturer in Harsewinkel, Germany.

“The opportunity to travel to Germany for my placement year will allow me to develop my knowledge of the culture. It’ll be great to meet new people from other agricultural backgrounds, as well as improve my language skills and gain invaluable experience working as an engineer for CLAAS.

“I’ve had enthusiasm for mechanisms and machine systems, especially on agricultural kit from a young age and have always been interested in how things work.

“After graduation, I aspire to work for a global company in engineering solutions to problems concerning machinery in agriculture. I’d like to be involved with testing and solving problems with prototype machines and parts at the forefront of the industry. One of my ambition is to work in Asia on the paddy fields of rice.”

On receiving the scholarship, Robert added: “I'd like to thank the interview panel for awarding me with the scholarship, and CLAAS for the financial sponsorship, as well as the opportunity to work for 15 months both in the UK, and abroad at the company headquarters.”
