Sian Downes, BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science student, has received the Jerman Scholarship at Harper Adams University.
Sian, 23, from Tregaron, Ceredigion said: “The scholarship will help to pay for traveling costs to complete my dissertation which involves interviewing beef farmers in West Wales about their herd’s health management.
“This scholarship will also help pay for a number of study tours which are scheduled to take place during spring of this year, which will help to enhance my understanding of the livestock sector.”
On receiving the Jerman Scholarship, Sian added: “I’m very grateful to the Development Trust in awarding me the Jerman scholarship in memory of the late Mr & Mrs Jerman, who were eager to support the young people within the agricultural industry.”
