Harper Adams University welcomed Dr Katya Dimitriova, Senior Lecturer in Microbiology and Milk Products Technology from the Agricultural University, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Dr Dimitriova visited Dr Vasil Pirogozliev, as part of an ERASMUS programme with a particular interest in microbiome and gut health in poultry, as well as The National Institute of Poultry Husbandry.
During her stay at Harper, Dr Dimitriova gave a presentation about the artisan cheese production specific for the Balkan Peninsula and the Mediterranean countries.
The Regional Food Academy staff who attended the presentation were very interested in the ‘Tulum Cheese’, as this particular type of cheese is qualified as a semi-hard/hard cheese.
