Apprenticeship Funding

Apprenticeship funding is designed to support employers in training new and existing staff while helping individuals gain practical skills and nationally recognised qualifications.

The system is largely driven by the Growth and Skills Levy, which requires larger employers to contribute a percentage of their payroll into a dedicated fund that can be used for approved training programmes. Smaller businesses that do not pay the levy can still access government co-investment, significantly reducing the cost of hiring apprentices. Overall, the funding model aims to boost workforce development, close skills gaps, and encourage long-term career progression across a wide range of industries.
