Message from the Chancellor

I send my congratulations to all those graduating in 2026 and to the whole Harper Adams community as you approach the University’s 125^th anniversary.

While many will have contributed to the success of this occasion, today’s achievements rightly belong to the graduands. Your commitment, perseverance and hard work have brought you to this point, and I hope you take satisfaction in all that you have accomplished.

As you move on to the next stages of your careers, you do so at a time when the challenges facing the global food system, agriculture, and the wider environment are both complex and urgent. The knowledge and skills developed at Harper Adams have never been more relevant, and your contribution will be of real importance in addressing these issues.

Over the past year, I have been pleased to see the University’s continued engagement with industry and the wider sector, including its involvement in the City Food and Drink Lecture and the Oxford Farming Conference. Such participation reflects the University’s strong connection to the industries it serves.

Just as today offers you, as graduands, an opportunity to look back at your time at Harper Adams University and all you have achieved, this is also a chance to look forward, towards the opportunities ahead. The University’s 125^th year is a moment to both recognise the institution’s long-standing contribution – and to look with confidence to its future.
