    Safe application of Pesticides using Handheld Equipment ( Knapsack Sprayer ) ( PA6 )

    Since 2015, anyone buying a pesticide authorised for professional use must obey a key legal requirement.

    The law demands that pesticides will be used either by a holder of a relevant certificate or working under the direct supervision of someone who is qualified.

    Therefore, this course has been developed in response to that legal requirement.

    Minimum age 16.

    Must have successfully completed Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1) as a prerequisite.

    Course content

    • Basics of spray application.
    • Hygiene & PPE.
    • The working principles of a knapsack sprayer.
    • Preparation of the applicator for work.
    • Nozzles.
    • Calibrating a knapsack sprayer.
    • Mixing, filling & site work.
    • Calibration - concentration method.
    • Decontamination, tank washing & storage.

      

    Cost

    £450 includes all tuition, registration & assessment fees.
