Mrs Kate S Baker

Having joined Harper Adams in August 2020 as the Deputy University Secretary within the University Secretary’s Office, my role covers a number of areas of responsibility including (but not limited to) the following:

Leading service areas of the University including Legal and Compliance, Human Resources and Environmental Strategy.

Developing strategies, policies and procedures across the University and in particular in the service areas I lead.

Providing the secretariat for Audit and Risk Management Committee.

Deputising for the University Secretary.

Leading specific projects for the University as required.

Prior to this role, I have over 20 years’ experience in the legal sector, having worked for the NFU legal team for over 10 years, in private practice and for the last 7 years in the HE sector, leading the legal departments at Harper Adams and also Birmingham City University. I am a qualified solicitor and have experience over a wide range of legal disciplines.
