Debbie, having gained a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture from the University of Wales in 1980, is an Agronomist and Food Technologist, who has BASIS and FACTS registration, auditing qualifications and has recently been awarded an Associateship of the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
She was a commercial farm agronomist in the NW of England for 20 years before working on potato agronomy at Cambridge University Farm. Debbie then changed direction and worked for Co-operative Food as a Technologist and then, Sainsbury’s, as part of their Produce Technical team. She is an examiner for BASIS, has served 2 terms on the UK Government’s Expert Committee for Pesticide Residues in Food and currently sits on the Steering board for the Allerton Trust, part of GWCT and the Executive group for Cambridge University Potato Growers Association. Debbie has recently retired as the UK Agronomist for PepsiCo, notably leading technically on potato supply for Walkers and now works as a Consultant for the Sainsbury’s Agriculture team, focusing on agronomy and pesticide driving work.
At home, in West Shropshire, Debbie has raised 4 children, and enjoys walking and working her dog.
