Governor Profile

Having been elected into office during her final year of study at Harper, Ellie has taken up the Presidency at Harper Adams’ Students’ Union for the 2023/24 academic year. Her role within the union involves student voice and representation; generating, supporting, and overseeing Union events, clubs, and societies; and contributing effectively to committees and boards led by the University. She ran for the role of SU President because she wanted to be a part of the team that is in a position of representation and provision for students to achieve this. She believes every student should have the same opportunities to engage with student life and that the people they meet, the relationships they develop, the skills they gain and the experiences they have throughout their time at University are as important as the list of items required to gain their qualifications. She feels she is able to effectively communicate the needs of students at Board and be a member who is particularly insightful to student life at Harper.

Ellie recently graduated Harper Adams with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing and so likes to keep her hand in the profession at local veterinary practice when she is able. She first got involved in the Union through the Netball Club in her first year and increased her responsibilities through appointment of becoming a course representative and a student member on the SU’s Board of Trustees. Outside of Harper and veterinary nursing, her interests lay in farm and equine health, outdoor activities, food, music, sustainable living and travelling.
