Gordon Wood, Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Chairman of the local Marches RICS Association, recently gave a talk to future rural surveyors at Harper Adams University College.
Mr Wood, a past-president of the Minerals Divisions of RICS, spokes to second year Rural Enterprise and Land Management students about mineral valuation, a related area to land agency work.
REALM course manager Simon Keeble said: “It was a pleasure to have Gordon join us and share his expertise with the students, who have to get to grips the wide range of specialist subjects they are likely to come across in their careers in rural land management.”
Mr Wood, who runs his own chartered surveyors firm based in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, said: “It is important for those who own or manage land not to forget the potential of the mineral resources that may exist beneath that same land”
One of the students was Jo Wall, a member of the Marches RICS Matrics, an organisation for junior members of the Institution. Jo joined Simon Keeble in welcoming Mr Wood to Harper.
