Harper Adams staff and students were able to exchange their unwanted clothes at the University College's very own swishing party earlier this week.

The event was organised to encourage people to reduce and reuse by passing on their good quality, clean items of clothing or accessories.

Gaynor Orton, Business Development Manager, Sustainable Technologies said: "It's about showing people that they can come and exchange their clothes, not having to buy them, say for that special occasion like a ball.

"Any items that are left behind will be donated to the Severn Hospice charity."

Local businesses were also invited to trade at the event, including Staffordshire-based jewellery maker Angela Smith.

Gaynor added: "This has become a national craze featuring in fashion magazines and even celebrities are hosting their own swishing parties.

"This helped to start the ball rolling and we thought what a great way to exchange clothes at Harper Adams."
