Harper Adams University College is pleased to have sponsored an award that recognises excellence in the animal health industry.

The OvertheCounter ‘Mastermind’ award was presented to Andrew Pattison from RM Jones at a ceremony organised by Grove House Publishing last week.

This was one of eleven prizes given in honour of people that have made a difference in terms of quality of advice, customer service and commitment to ongoing learning, in the animal health industry.

The judges, comprised of industry peers, were pleased to see the winners clearly demonstrating their commitment to their own and others CPD training, combined with clear examples of how they are working with other channels in order to offer the best advice to their customers.

Andrew was chosen for the award due to his wide depth and breadth of knowledge. Judges were impressed with his attention to detail and desire to impart his knowledge to his colleagues and customers.

He works closely with local vets and has recently run an in-store clinic in conjunction with vets, a manufacturer and an independent sheep consultant.

Runner up in the ‘Mastermind’ award category was David MacKenzie of Habro. He was Highly Commended for the huge following of farmers that follow his advice on animal health management.

Judges were particularly impressed by his desire and willingness to raise awareness in a ‘hands on’ way.
