Young farmers from across England and Wales spent the weekend stockjudging and taking part in safety competitions at Harper Adams University College, recently.

They were taking part in the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) competition finals, with categories including Young Stockjudge, Stockman of the Year, and Efficiency with Safety.

Part of the weekend was also spent at University College first year student, Harriet Wilson’s, family farm in Haughton, Staffordshire.

18 young stockmen and women battled to be crowned Stockman of the Year, while 21 members competed in the Young Stockjudge category. Finally, eight teams entered the Efficiency with Safety contest, held in the soil hall at Harper Adams.

NFYFC President, Matt Baker, took time out of his busy schedule to visit the campus to help judge the competitions.

Full results are available in the competitions section of the NFYFC website here.
