Students to have ‘welly’ good time thanks to bar re-vamp

“We wanted to create a welcoming place for all students to use.
Students at Harper Adams University College now have a new place to socialise on campus thanks to the revamp of the old lounge bar.
‘The Welly Inn’ officially opened this week and boasts Sky Sports HD and a range of new tables, chairs and sofas.
The décor has also been updated with a British racing green and brown colour scheme to reinforce the bar’s new country pub-like feel.
Bar Manager, Barry Watkins, said: “We wanted to create a welcoming place for all students to use, somewhere different from the other places that they can access.
“I like to think of it as a pub within the little village that is Harper Adams and hope that the re-vamp will encourage more students to use the facilities.”
Previously the bar was neglected, with students choosing to socialise at other venues. Now, thanks to the facelift, anyone should feel at home including international students, staff and even external guests.
Barry added: “We’ve increased the seating to include poser tables and booths to suit all needs when they come to The Welly Inn.
“Although, we’d prefer it if people didn’t come with dirty wellies on as we’ve just had new flooring!”
