Staff and students at Harper Adams University College have collected more than £1,000 for a cancer charity.
The money was raised through a raffle and Christmas card poster campaign, and was presented to Cancer Research last week.
Samantha Bruckshaw, Treasurer of the Cancer Research Newport Branch Committee, said: “We are very pleased with the excellent amount of money raised. We’d like to give thanks to all of the staff and students who contributed.
“Our scientists and doctors have made significant contributions to half of the top 30 drugs used to treat patients worldwide today.
“In 2011, we continued to achieve great things, for example, Abiraterone - a new drug for advanced prostate cancer that we helped to discover and develop, has been licensed in Europe.”
