The Harper Spirit has been proven once again, with Harper Adams University College finishing fifth in University Face Off 2012.
University Face Off is an online contest which aims to demonstrate how well supported UK Universities are. The input of students, through Tweets, Facebook comments, contest posters and reviews of their place of study is rewarded by points, fed into a leaderboard.
On Saturday it was announced that the Open University had won the 2012 competition, followed by Aberystwyth, Keele, Aberdeen and then Harper Adams.
UFO said: “Over 25,000 students from a total of 143 British universities proudly voiced support their support this year. Once again, many of the regular toppers of traditional university league tables were left standing by a pioneering group of institutions with a strong sense of community.”
The Complete University Guide has been involved in this year's contest. Students taking part in the contest have been encouraged to review their universities for the Guide, which publishes its own tables in a few months’ time.
University Face Off is managed by the team behind the student money site Save the Student! The idea was borne out of a desire to rekindle positive sentiment towards universities. This year the contest's total reach exceeded 3 million.
