Daffodil takes on leading role

A Shropshire stray is to become the poster girl for Harper Adams University College after being selected to appear in a series of promotional photographs.

Daffodil the two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier is currently at Hilbrae Kennels in Cold Hatton near Telford and has been waiting to be rescued for more than six months.

She was chosen to be in the photographs by Lecturer, Louise Buckley. Louise said: “When I’m not working at Harper Adams I try to spend some time walking dogs at Hilbrae. The staff really appreciate the extra walks and attention that the volunteers can give the many dogs they have needing homes.

“I’ve walked Daffodil personally and can say that she has a very happy disposition and would be great with families as she loves people and other dogs.

“She even won the prize ‘prettiest bitch’ at a local dog show, so that’s why I thought she’d be great in the photographs.”

The photographs will be used to help publicise animals courses at the University College, including Veterinary Nursing and Veterinary Physiotherapy.

Daffodil’s photographs are currently with designers who are creating new banners and marketing materials.

Louise added: “It would be great if we could tell people that Daffodil was re-homed following her new-found fame.

“She really is our new poster girl!”
