Harper Adams University will be open to the wider community next Sunday, December 8, when it hosts a Christmas market.
From 10am to 2pm, more than 40 traders will be selling locally-produced food and handmade crafts in and around the Regional Food Academy (RFA) on the campus in Edgmond, near Newport.
The market is being organised by student Shaun Taylor, 20, from Shawbury, who is on a year’s work placement with the RFA as part of his BSc/BSc Honours Food Nutrition and Well Being course.
Shaun said: “It’s going to be a wonderful shopping event, with plenty of Christmas spirit. The Harper Adams Christian Union is hosting Santa’s Grotto for children to visit, the stalls will be selling a wide variety of exciting foods and great gift ideas, and visitors can see more of Harper Adams by taking a tractor-trailer tour of our estate.
“Hot food will be on sale to keep away the winter chill and shoppers can enter a raffle help two charities – Blind Dog rescue and Hillbrae Dog Rescue. Furthermore, by choosing to shop at the market, people will be helping to support local businesses and producers.
“Parking is free, so I would encourage everyone to make time to pop over to the campus on Sunday the 8th to see what treats they can pick up.”
