A team of staff at Harper Adams University have raised their largest sum yet for a cancer charity.

Members of Domestic Services at the Edgmond campus have presented a cheque for £1,380 to Cancer Research.

Receiving the cheque, Kate Dalders, Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research, said: “I am really impressed with the amount – thank you so much! It’s the best you have done and I know it can be hard work arranging events and securing donations, so thank you!”

Fundraising activities included a bake sale, raffle, auction and donations in lieu of Christmas cards.

The Domestic Services team has been fund-raising for charities for more than 20 years now. Team manager Michelle Pryce said: “Cancer Research is always a popular charity among our 80-plus team members, many of whom have been affected in some way or another by the disease.

“The team’s enthusiasm for fund-raising in the run up to Christmas never wanes, and it’s great to see support from the wider campus community increasing.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed, we’re all very proud!”
