Two founding members of the Harper Adams University Development Trust board have stepped down.

Ros Barsley and Basil Bayne had served the trust since it was established in 2005. Development Trust Chairman Tony Burgess thanked them for their hard work and commitment over the past ten years and presented each with a small gift.

The Trust was also delighted to welcome three new Trustees to their first meeting:

    • Mr Simon Jones, Alumnus and current President of the Harper Adams Club
    • Mr Joe Lawson, Alumnus and Harper Adams Fellow
    • Mr Clarke Willis, Alumnus and CEO of Anglia Farmers

The Harper Adams University Development Trust aims to develop the student experience by continuing the University's work to create the best possible learning environment for its students, with a focus on the improvement of student facilities; and by providing an endowment fund to help students in need of financial support to take part in higher education at the University.

The Trustees, consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, alumni, governors and independent individuals, bring with them a wide variety of professional, business and educational experience in the land-based industries to support the work of the Trust. They have been working behind the scenes to raise vital income in support of student scholarships and a capital programme.

Their work has brought the total value of student scholarships up to £290,000 in the current academic year, from £17,500 in 2006
