The first Beat Recruitment Prize has been awarded to second year land management student, Joanna Blakely.
The prize, a top of the range Apple iPad, is awarded to the highest overall scoring student on the Rural Professional Practice Module.
Jon Lewis of Beat Recruitment said: “This is the first year we have been involved with providing this prize and we have not been disappointed with the high-calibre of students we have seen.
“Harper Adams is well regarded within the industry for producing able-minded, practical and diligent students. Joanna scored an impressive 83%, which goes to show how accomplished these students can be.
“I am delighted to present Joanna with this well-earned prize."
Beat Recruitment chose to sponsor the prize due to links established through Senior Lecturer and module leader, Andrew Black.
Mr Black, a Chartered Surveyor, said: "Every year we look to build on what is already a very varied and wide-ranging module.
“The addition of a sponsor for the overall highest scoring student has really been a great reward for the students to work towards.”
Commenting on her prize, BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management student, Joanna from Southampton, said: “I'm absolutely delighted to have won the Apple iPad - Beat Recruitment has sponsored the award with such an amazing prize.
“Having Jon visit Harper Adams and present a talk has been really insightful and useful in helping prepare us for placement applications and interviews.
“Winning the iPad has come at an amazing time as I start my placement next week so it will come in very handy.”
