Posted 18 February 2016
County Antrim student Shannon Mc Donnell has been awarded the Lord Stafford Scholarship at Harper Adams University.
Shannon, from Cushendall, is a second year BEng Agricultural Engineering student at the university in Shropshire, England, and will received £1,000 to support her studies. She said: “I feel very privileged and thankful to have received the award.
“I applied for the scholarship to help to fund my education. The money will help me buy books and help me with the costs of travelling, especially travelling home to Ireland to see my family more.
Shannon is currently pursuing opportunities for her year in industry, starting this summer and in the longer term would like to work as an engineer in a number of different countries to give her the opportunity to see the world while furthering her career.
