Harper Adams University is again one of the main contenders for the What Uni Student Choice Awards – having been shortlisted in eight of 10 categories for the 2016 honours.

The Student Choice Award winners are chosen based on reviews submitted by students to the What Uni website.

This year, the Shropshire University is a finalist for:

    1. University of the Year

    2. Student Support

    3. Job Prospects

    4. Student Union

    5. Clubs and Societies

    6. University Facilities

    7. Accommodation

    8. Courses and Lecturers

University Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Llewellyn, said: “We are thrilled that our students have placed us on to the shortlists for 8 of the 10 categories in this year's WhatUni Student Choice Awards.

“This is a tremendous vote of confidence in the University and all we are doing to provide a great experience for our students.  We look forward to the finals in mid-April when we hope to repeat last year's success in winning the award for Student Support.”

Student reviews on the What Uni website include:

“I love it at Harper Adams! It's a welcoming and friendly place which is comfortable to live in and most importantly the university is always looking at ways to improve in all aspects. It welcomes the students’ views and always gives us the chance to participate in all sorts. The academic side is also great as the lectures are informative and our lecturers are willing to help us to achieve our maximum potential” – Sarah, Veterinary Physiotherapy.

“The course is everything I expected it to be and more. The accommodation is great and the services provided by the university couldn't be better,” – Tom, Rural Enterprise and Land Management.

I'm so glad I went here, the experiences are great the night life is brilliant and the subject I'm studying is amazing. I'm loving my time here and university and the staff are always really helpful. The university is small enough so it is a tight knit community but large enough so you there are a lot of people to choose to speak to,” Reece, Food Technology with Nutrition.

“Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Everyone is so friendly. Harper is my second family and I never want to come home!” Megan, Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

The lecturers have experienced first-hand what the industry is like and don't stop sharing information and advice on how to best tackle it!” Dan, Countryside Management.

“Absolutely loved every minute. I call Harper home now instead of my actual home! I've met so many great, like-minded people. The SU is always keeping us interested with all the events going on… It just seems like Harper is so much more enjoyable than everywhere else,” Will, Business Management with Marketing.

The education is top quality with many guest speakers and experts in their fields visiting to give lectures”, Sam, Agriculture.
