“I chose to study agri-business as I’ve a huge interest in this particular field and agriculture itself."
Bethan Howells, BSc (Hons) Agri-Business student, has received the Jerman scholarship at Harper Adams University.
Beth, 20, from Hereford, Herefordshire, said: “I chose to study agri-business as I’ve a huge interest in this particular field and agriculture itself.
“If it was not for Harper Adams and the agri-business course, I wouldn’t have the confidence and knowledge to go to different events to expand and grow into the industry which will enable me to contribute to the rural economy.
She added: “The scholarship will help me in many ways; it’ll help pay for extra short course such as the AMTRA SQP training to sell animal medicines, business and sales course, land based certificates such as a trailer test and attending conferences. These are vital to me as they are attractive for potential jobs and to future employers.
“I’ll also be able to go to more events to help widen my knowledge and buy resources, such as books to help me during my final year at university.”
