    Harper Adams becomes education partner for Future Farm Technology Expo

    Harper Adams University has become the Lead Education Partner of Future Farm Technology Expo; an agricultural show specialising in smart agricultural technology.

    The university will be exhibiting at the event which will be hosted at the NEC, Birmingham, on November 11 and 12, showcasing the range of courses on offer. In addition, under the ‘Ask the Expert’ feature, university academics working in agri-tech will be on hand to answer questions about a range of topics, including agricultural economics, IoT technologies, animal welfare and waste management.

    It’s also planned that the team behind the Hands Free Farm will host a panel session about their experiences of working on the project. Team member Jonathan Gill will also be participating in the event’s drone area.

    Sarah Swinnerton, Shows and Events Officer at Harper Adams University, said: “Harper Adams University has a long history of partnering with some of the country’s best agricultural shows and technical events so we are pleased to be able to continue with that tradition by becoming Future Farm Technology Expo’s first Lead Education Partner.

    “The future development of the agricultural industry is at the heart of what we do at Harper Adams University, so it is a natural fit for us to partner with this new and forward-thinking event.

    “Last year’s event offered us a great platform to demonstrate the university’s world leading credentials in agri-technologies and, as Lead Education Partner, we plan to expand on this and offer visitors an even greater insight into the exciting and innovative work being done at the university.”

    Future Farm Technology Expo is run by Farmers Weekly and Reed Exhibitions. The event hosts demonstrations of new technologies and the multitude of capabilities that data provides as well as bringing together innovators in in agricultural technologies with farmer looking to improve their productivity and yields.
