“Over the years we have demonstrated a consistently high performance in the National Student Survey, and so we are pleased to see that our students continue to value the education they receive at Harper Adams."
Students at Harper Adams University remain some of the most satisfied in the country – according to the 2020 National Student Survey.
Feedback from students as to their “overall satisfaction” with courses and the wider student experience led to Harper Adams achieving the third highest rating of all English and fifth highest across the entire UK from the 151 publicly funded higher education institutions included in the survey.
Its 90.4 per cent overall satisfaction rating also means Harper Adams maintains its position as the highest-ranked university in the West Midlands.
“Over the years we have demonstrated a consistently high performance in the National Student Survey, and so we are pleased to see that our students continue to value the education they receive at Harper Adams,” said Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Llewellyn.
“Our staff have worked extremely hard to support our students, and their efforts are evident in important elements of the survey. We are extremely grateful to our final year students for the positive way in which they have reflected on their university experience, and, in particular, for their commitment to their studies this year.”
Harper Adams was rated top in the UK for providing students with sufficient advice and learning support and second for its Learning Community.
Degrees that received a 100 per cent satisfaction rating from graduating students were BSc/BSc (Hons) routes in Agricultural Engineering, Automotive Engineering (Off Highway), Agriculture with Animal Science, and Agri-Business.
Across the Animal Science suite of degrees, the rating is 94%, with Land and Property degrees achieving 96% overall satisfaction. Both Veterinary Nursing and Veterinary Physiotherapy have 92% satisfaction and for Food degrees, the rating is 93%
The NSS polled students graduating this summer as their studies came to a close. Harper Adams University’s results were based on a comprehensive survey completion rate, which, at 87 per cent, was the second highest in the UK.
The NSS results were published hot on the heels of the first national Graduate Outcomes survey, in which 98.8 per cent of the University’s graduates were in employment or further study. The University has also recently been awarded a Gold Whatuni Student Choice Award for Job Prospects and three silver awards for Student Support, Course and Lecturers and Accommodation. Like the NSS, there awards are made based on student reviews of their experiences.
